Robin Pecknold (Fleet Foxes) covers Magnetic Fields’ “Book of Love”
(Seattle, 7/11/09)
Yesterday I posted a Neutral Milk Hotel cover he did over at CopyCats, and people seemed to really like it - so here’s another good one from the same show. :)
I was just saying last night that “Book of Love” is my favorite Magnetic Fields song, and that I’m pretty unfamiliar with the band still but I seem to love covers of their songs more than the Fields themselves. The first time I heard this song, Mike Doughty covered it - but I might love this cover even more.
Loving all over this cover right now. He also does a pretty stellar rendition of “Two Headed Boy,” which is pretty...
this still really does it for me. this man’s voice!
i play this on the uke almost every day. it makes me miss jaime.
